The Boy Scouts of America settled a sex abuse case yesterday involving a California man who was molested by his troop leader back in 2007.
The settlement decision came after only three days of trial on the basis that the Boy Scouts failed to provide adequate training of leaders and volunteers, as well as in warning parents and guardians about sexual abuse. All but two of the files remain sealed along with details of the settlement.
A spokesperson from Boy Scouts of America stated “We regret there have been times when the BSA’s best efforts to protect children were insufficient, and for that we extend our deepest apologies to victims and their families.” Read Full Story
